Installation Manual - Barium Announcer
The Barium has been discontinued and is no longer sold for new projects. This documentation remains available to support existing installations. For new projects or replacements, contact the Iongrade sales team.
Installing the Barium is extremely simple: just plug the device into a power outlet using the supplied power supply and connect a speaker or audio amplifier. Then the device is placed in configuration mode to define the network parameters.
Power Supply
The Barium is powered with 5 VDC, through the power supply provided with the device. The power supply is dual-voltage, and can be used in 110 VAC or 220 VAC installations.

Audio Output
You must connect a speaker or an audio amplifier to the Barium. For this, the device has two output options:

Command Input (Input Cmd)
The Barium has a command input (Input Cmd) that allows playing an audio file through the signal of a dry contact — a button or a relay contact. The audio file to be played when the input is triggered is defined in the device configuration (Input Cmd item on the Hardware screen).
Status LED
On the top, the Barium has an LED that reports the communication status. The LED blinks a certain number of times every two seconds, indicating the state the device is in:

Reading the status LED helps during installation and maintenance of the device, allowing you to quickly locate network connection or broker communication failures.
Configuration Mode (WiFi Access Point)
To configure the Barium you must place it in configuration mode. In this mode, the device activates its own WiFi network (Access Point), and the configuration is done through a browser connected to that network.
Activating configuration mode
With the device plugged in, press and hold the front button for five seconds. The device plays an audio message informing that the WiFi access point has been activated. At that moment, release the button.
To deactivate the Access Point, press the button again for five seconds (an audio message confirms the deactivation) or simply turn the device off and on again.
Connecting to the Barium WiFi network
The Access Point created by the Barium has a unique SSID name, exclusive to each device, formed by the word barium followed by a device identification code — for example, bariumA375F67A or barium8F4AF7A4. This network is open (no password): just connect to it with a computer, laptop, or smartphone.
Accessing the configuration (login)
Connected to the Barium WiFi network, open a browser and go to the address:
http://192.168.4.1
You will be asked for a user name and password. The default access credentials are:
