MorphoWave Integration

Integration with Idemia MorphoWave biometric devices for contactless palm identification.

Concept

MorphoWave is a contactless biometric technology that identifies people by reading the palm of the hand.

Benefits:

  • Fast identification (< 1 second)
  • No physical contact
  • High accuracy
  • Resistant to spoofing

Architecture

The integration uses the EDA communication gateway:

ACCELERO ←→ EDA Gateway ←→ MorphoWave Devices
EDA Gateway

The EDA Gateway is not manufactured by IONGRADE. It must be purchased and configured separately. Refer to the manufacturer's manual.

Configuration

Step 1: Configure the EDA Gateway

Configure the EDA gateway according to the solution developer's instructions.

Manufacturer's Manual

Refer to the EDA gateway's specific documentation for initial configuration.

Step 2: General Settings in ACCELERO

Navigation path: Advanced > System > Integrations - Idemia

Required fields:

FieldDescriptionSource
Token IDInstallation authentication tokenProvided by the EDA manufacturer
Installation IDUnique installation IDProvided by the EDA manufacturer
Unique Data

Token and Installation ID are unique for each installation. Obtain them from the EDA manufacturer.

After saving:

  • The system is ready for operation
  • The "Generate configuration file" button becomes available

Generate Configuration File

  1. Click "Generate configuration file"
  2. The file is downloaded
  3. Import the file into the EDA

See the EDA manual for the import process.

Step 3: Register MorphoWave Devices

Each MorphoWave device must be registered in ACCELERO.

Navigation path: Settings > Morpho Wave

Click: "New device"

Configuration Fields

FieldDescriptionExample
TypeDevice modelMorphoWave Compact
DescriptionName that appears on screens"Main Entrance Reader"
IP AddressDevice IP on the network192.168.1.50
PortCommunication port8080
Capture timeout (seconds)Maximum time to capture template30
Template synchronizationReceive all registered templates✓ Yes
Require three capturesCapture with "three passes"✓ Yes (recommended)

Type

Model of the installed MorphoWave device.

Common models:

  • MorphoWave Compact
  • MorphoWave Tower
  • MorphoWave XP

Description

Friendly name for identification on registration screens.

Examples:

  • "Main Gate Reader"
  • "MorphoWave Reception"
  • "Employee Entrance Reader"

Capture Timeout

Maximum time for the template capture process.

How it works:

  • Person places hand on the reader
  • System tries to capture biometrics
  • If not completed within X seconds → Process aborted

Recommendation: 20-30 seconds

Template Synchronization

Defines whether the device receives all registered templates.

Options:

OptionWhen to Use
✓ EnabledDevice used for identification
✗ DisabledDevice used only for enrollment

Example:

Device 1: Main Gate
Synchronization: ✓ Enabled
Use: Access identification

Device 2: HR Room (enrollment)
Synchronization: ✗ Disabled
Use: Template capture only
Optimization

By unchecking devices used only for enrollment, you save memory and speed up synchronization.

Require Three Captures

Determines how many passes are required for enrollment.

Options:

SettingPassesWhen to Use
✓ Enabled3 passesRecommended - Greater accuracy
✗ Disabled1 passFaster enrollment, lower accuracy

Recommendation: Always enable for better biometric quality.

Operation

Automatic Synchronization

After configuration, templates are captured and distributed automatically:

  1. Template is captured on any device
  2. Sent to ACCELERO
  3. ACCELERO distributes it to all devices with synchronization enabled

Manual Synchronization

If you need to synchronize all templates again:

Navigation path: Advanced > System > Integrations - Idemia

Action: Click "Send full list"

When to use:

  • Device replacement in the field
  • After device maintenance/reset
  • Detected inconsistencies
Synchronization Time

The process may take time depending on the number of templates. Be patient!

Biometric Enrollment

Process:

  1. Access the person's registration in ACCELERO
  2. Select MorphoWave device for capture
  3. Person places hand on the reader
  4. System captures biometrics (1 or 3 passes as configured)
  5. Template is saved and distributed automatically
Quality

For better accuracy, instruct the person to position their hand consistently across the 3 passes.

Access Identification

Process:

  1. Person places hand on the MorphoWave reader
  2. Device compares with stored templates
  3. Identifies the person
  4. Sends identification to ACCELERO
  5. ACCELERO validates permissions
  6. Grants or denies access

Speed: Identification in less than 1 second!

Best Practices

  1. Position strategically: Devices in easily accessible and well-lit locations

  2. Train users: Teach the correct hand positioning

  3. Always 3 captures: Enable for better biometric quality

  4. Dedicated enrollment device: Keep one device only for enrolling templates

  5. Test after installation: Validate capture and identification before releasing for use

  6. Clean regularly: Keep readers clean for better performance

  7. Monitor performance: Track identification success rate

  8. Identifier backup: Keep cards/QR codes as an alternative

Troubleshooting

Template does not synchronize

Causes:

  • EDA Gateway offline
  • Device with synchronization disabled
  • Network issue

Solution: Check connectivity, force manual synchronization

Identification fails frequently

Causes:

  • Low-quality template
  • Incorrect hand positioning
  • Dirty reader

Solution: Re-enroll biometrics with 3 captures, clean the reader

Capture timeout

Cause: Person did not position hand correctly

Solution: Re-instruct the person, increase timeout if needed

Device does not appear for enrollment

Cause: "Enable photo capture" not configured

Solution: Check the device configuration
