Licensing
ACCELERO is licensed in a modular way. The usage license defines what is enabled in your installation across two dimensions:
- Quantitative limits — how many operators, controllers, cards, categories, etc. you can register.
- Features — which resources and integrations are released (Passes, Credits, Multi-tenant, integrations with apps, hardware, and systems, and so on).
You can contract new features or expand/reduce limits at any time by updating the license key.
How features are delivered: modules and plugins
Over time, ACCELERO began delivering features in two different ways. Commercially they are the same thing — all are sold as additional system resources. The difference is only technical and of nomenclature:
| Module | Plugin | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A feature that is part of the core of ACCELERO | A feature developed separately from the core and embedded in the system |
| Origin | Original product model — ACCELERO was born licensing features by modules | More recent model — independent development, with its own life cycle |
| How it is activated | Released by the license key | Installed and enabled by the IONGRADE technical team |
| From a commercial standpoint | Contractable feature | Contractable feature |
Both modules and plugins are "new system features". The distinction exists because of how they were built, not by how they are sold or used. That is why the same type of resource can be a module in one case and a plugin in another — for example, SigmaApp, which by the current logic would be a plugin, was developed in the early days as a module.
See Plugins for the catalog of features delivered as a plugin.
Consult the license
Navigation path: Advanced > System > System - Usage license
The Usage license screen has three tabs:
- Quantitative — contracted limits (simultaneous operators, controllers, active cards, etc.).
- Modules — active features and features available for contracting.
- Update license — field to insert a new key.
The System - Usage license screen showing the Quantitative, Modules, and Update license tabs.
Update the license
When you contract new features or expand limits, IONGRADE provides a new key:
- Go to
Advanced > System > System - Usage license > Update license. - Locate the New license field.
- Insert the key provided by IONGRADE.
- Click Update license.
There is no need to restart the system — the resources of the new license become immediately available after updating the key.
Quantitative limits
In addition to the features, the license controls registration limits. When a limit is reached, the system may block new registrations until it is expanded.
| Resource | Description |
|---|---|
| Operators | Number of operators |
| Controllers | Number of physical and virtual controllers |
| Cards | Number of active identifiers |
| Categories | Number of categories |
| Time ranges | Number of time ranges |
| Custom fields | Number of custom fields |
| Facial equipment | Number of equipment, per manufacturer (Idemia, Hikvision, Control iD, ZKTeco) |
Contact IONGRADE to expand the contracted limits.

Not every licensed feature appears as its own item in the Modules tab of the ACCELERO Usage license screen. Some resources are enabled by license and documented on their own pages — for example, Synapsis, Working-Time Control, and the single session per operator (UniqLogin). And many features are delivered as plugins.
